MEMBRANE SWITCHES - PILLOW / RIM EMBOSSED OR POLY DOMED (TACTILE)
Embossed or domed switches provide a snap-action feel for added tactile definition. The switches incoporate flexible graphic (usually made of polycarbonate and polyester) and internal layers over a printed circuit.

MEMBRANE SWITCHES - USER INTERFACE WITH BACKLIGHTING OPTIONS (NON-TACTILE)
Non-tactile switches are less expensive and provide longer switch life. It usually utilizes a more rigid plastic material, such as PMMA.

Graphic overlays are printed graphic surfaces that display custom text and designs that are placed on the exterior layer of a product. They serve the purposes of user interface, branding, backlighting and dead fronting (an icon that is “dead”, or hidden, from normal view)
